Weir family tree farms first seedlings were planted by Harlie Weir in 1945 on a lot in Stewartstown, NH. The balsam fir needles of the original seedlings had an extremely desirable blue color. Some of the trees in the original plantation are still used for seed.
In 1956, Harlie acquired the current farm in East Colebrook and planted 130 acres in Balsam. Through the 1960's, Harlie's oldest son William became active. William continues to operate the farms today with his wife Pauline and their grown children, Cheryl, William Jr., and Jay.
It should be noted that Harlie was a founding president of the NH-VT Christmas Tree Association and son William has served as Vice President, President and Currently serves as a Director.
